Nov. 2007 - Lake Superior is a Gem

On July 18, 2006 Russ and Sharon Lepisto began their journey to circumnavigate the eastern third of the United States in their wooden trawler. During the course of their 7,360-mile trip they encountered many waterways and none were as clean and beautiful as Lake Superior. The beauty of Lake Superior and our area is unequaled in this country" Russ said. "Lake Superior is a gem and we have to protect it. The clean water, we just didn't see any clean water to speak of after we left Chicago."
