Board of Directors

Phil Musser

I am a self-employed business consultant in the Keweenaw Peninsula region focused on helping to create family-sustaining work for the folks who value the Keweenaw and want to live here. I have lived here for 23 years.

I love the wild places here in the Keweenaw and enjoy the out-of-doors recreational opportunities. I value the fact that the Keweenaw is an out-of-the-way place and the people that live and recreate here also value it for the same reasons. I enjoy road biking, hiking, bird watching, mushroom hunting, skiing, snowshoeing, jogging, fly-fishing, and kayaking.

I want to help protect land in the Copper Country because the Keweenaw is a special place that is valued because of the water, woodlands, diversity of people and rich history. It is important to balance growth with protecting the environment, which is the reason we all live here.

I am serving on the board of Directors because I believe the KLT fulfills a very important role in protecting the environment and educating both residents and visitors about the importance of wild places to our quality of life and sense of place. I will use my skills in finance, non-profit boards and fundraising to help the KLT fulfill its mission.
