Stewardship

Good Land Conservation Requires Land Stewardship

Each year, volunteer stewards oversee Keweenaw Land Trust's conservation efforts. Stewards monitor easements and oversee management of preserves, ensuring that conservation values are protected. Stewards may be called on to control invasive species, conduct baseline studies and write reports, and develop management plans. Other stewardship roles include controlling erosion, building trails, and encouraging native species of plants and animals.
